My Work / Office / Desk Beauty Essentials

Friday 26 July 2013

I've seen a lot of posts popping up on my feed recently showcasing the products that women keep with them at their work spaces.  Be it on a desk of your own, inside a drawer or locker etc, there are usually a couple of beauty essentials that we rely on to get us through the working day; here are mine.

As a general rule of thumb, I don't keep any make-up on my work desk, purely because I never feel the need to reapply anything there.  Instead, I keep my make-up bits stashed away in my handbag for those impromptu trips to the ladies, should I wish to do a cheeky touch-up throughout the day.

On the desk

Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets (review)
That said, I do have a pack of blotting tissues on there because my t-zone can get fairly oily.  These are quick, easy and effective - one dab of a sheet and I'm good to go and meet clients without worrying that I look like a greaseball.

Gwdihw Nail Wizard Balm* (review)
Whilst I am blissfully happy that we have air conditioning where I work, I'm all too aware of the drying side effects of it.  I like to look after my nails, so a swipe of this cuticle balm every now and again keeps them in tip top condition.

Ultrasun SPF 30 Sunscreen
I'm trying to get into the habit of reapplying my sunscreen before I go out, so having a mini tube on my desk is helping me to remember.

Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Hand Cream (review)
Another way that I combat drying air conditioning is with this hand cream.  It's one of my favourites because the scent is so uplifting and lovely.

Mont Bleu Glass Nail File
For those times when there are computer problems of course...

Jurlique Essence Of Rose Roll On Fragrance Oil* (review)
A quick dab of this gorgeous perfume onto my wrists ensures I'm smelling as fresh as a daisy (or rose in this case!).

Burt's Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm
You all know I'm a lip balm junkie, so of course there's one of these on my desk.  I can't stand having chapped lips, and again with the drying effects of air conditioning in the office, a lip balm is a firm essential for me.

Organic Surge Eye Gel* (review)
A new product I've been loving lately is this wonderful eye gel from Organic Surge, which I have dubbed my favourite hayfever saviour.  It helps to soothe irritated eyes, and reduce puffiness, so it's also a must for anyone who stares at a computer screen all day.

Organyc Wet Wipes*
And lastly, a pack of wet wipes always come in handy.  I mainly use them for giving my work space a quick clean once a week, and for mopping up any clumsy spills of tea.

  1. You always took great photos Evelyn :) By the way I've always wanted to try Neal's Yard products but still haven't got the chance yet, and that Bee Lovely Hand Cream is one of those product that gets my curiosity. I bet it's very moisturizing, yeah?

  4. Love Mont Bleu files, the mini's are so handy. My essentials when kept to a minimum are nail file, lip balm, hand cream, perfume & 4head for when a lovely migraine decides to join me.
